Birds of Flame

This sketch was my first months-long project. I first drew the phoenix head on a separate piece of paper, then cut it and glued it to a larger piece. This part of the drawing took the longest as I was still learning and experimenting on how to shade and create a realistic image. I repeated the process with the flying bird. For the background, I drew many circles and gradually shaded the edges. At this point, I felt the drawing was missing something so I decided to add a light shade of color.
